I think this shows how much sales of higher price homes slowed in 2006.  This includes only homes that sold for $1,000,000 or more:
2005: Number of homes sold 1,213; median price $1,425,000, median days on market 37
2006: Number of homes sold 994; median price $1,456,250, median days on market 43
This data is from the Marin MLS.  As is the case with all homes, prices have held but sales are down.  So far this year (2007) the number of sales is in line with 2006 so the slow down seems to have bottomed out.
